Personal contributions

Please ensure your contribution is sent to us according to the dates provided below. This will ensure your contribution is processed in time for the end of the financial year on 30 June 2023.

Please also consider the relevant contribution caps that apply to both concessional and non-concessional contributions for the 2022/2023 financial year before making any adjustments or additional contributions to your account.

Contribution splitting

If you wish to split your accumulation contributions with your spouse for the financial year ending 30 June 2022, we recommend having your form to us no later than Thursday 22 June 2023 to ensure that it is processed by 30 June 2023.

Making contributions

There are three ways to make sure your contributions reach us before the end of the financial year:

1. BPAY® contributions

We recommend making contributions to your account using BPAY before 4:00pm (AEST) on Friday 23 June 2023 to ensure they are reflected on your 30 June 2023 annual statement.

Any BPAY contributions received into the bank account after 30 June 2023 will not be eligible for the government co-contribution (if applicable) for the current financial year.

You may wish to check with your financial institution to ensure any contribution made by BPAY reaches us in time.

2. Payroll deduction

If you plan on making a personal contribution via a payroll deduction, it is important that you take action early and speak with your employer’s payroll department immediately. This is necessary to ensure you allow sufficient time for your employer to process your request so that your contribution is received from your employer before the following dates:

• Employers who use the Employer Portal: 4:00pm (AEST) on Friday 23 June 2023.

• If your employer uses an external clearing house for remitting contributions to Equip, we need to receive their contributions and data by 4:00pm (AEST) on Friday 23 June 2023. It is important that they provide the contributions and data in accordance with their required timeframes so that the dates above can be met. Some clearing houses can take longer to get the money through to the destination fund, therefore you should check this with your employer.

These dates allow time to allocate the contribution to your account before 30 June 2023.

3. Cheque

If you are making a contribution via cheque, you must complete and attach the Make a personal contribution form, make your cheque payable to Equip and mail it to the following address:

Equipsuper
GPO Box 4303
Melbourne VIC 3001.

To be eligible for the government co-contribution for this year*, all cheques must be received by Equip Administration (Melbourne) by 5:00pm on Friday 23 June 2023. Please note that contributions received via cheque may take up to three working days to be allocated to your account following receipt of the cheque and your completed form.

*Subject to meeting the conditions to qualify for a government co-contribution.

Please note that Equip cannot accept responsibility for ensuring contributions are banked by 30 June 2023, for any cheques received after this cut-off, sent to an incorrect address or that cannot be banked due to incorrect payee details. Please check all details on the cheque and form before sending to Equip and allow sufficient time for the cheque to reach us and be processed to your account before 30 June 2023. Unfortunately, the trustee cannot accept responsibility for missed co-contribution payments where your contributions are received after the above cut-off times.

Please contact us if you have any issues in relation to the deadlines.
