Our Compare My Super calculator works by looking at the average super balances of Equip Super members in different age groups over a ten year range, for example 20-29 year-olds, 30-39 year-olds, and so on. It then breaks down the average balances into four groups based on balance amount: low, below average, above average, and high. 

The calculator uses the age and the super balance you enter to provide a rough estimate of how you compare to other Equip Super members in your age group.

The numbers the Compare My Super calculator refer to are updated annually based on internal data on average member balances.

No, the Compare My Super calculator doesn’t include or consider insurance premiums or any other deductions, it just looks at average super balances within different age ranges.

The data in the Compare My Super calculator is based on is updated annually, usually in August.

SMSF members can use the Compare My Super calculator as a general guide to how their super balances compare to the average Equip Super member, but doesn’t take into consideration other investments or assets they may have in their SMSF.

The Compare My Super calculator looks at average balances as at the end of the previous financial year, and uses ten year age ranges for the comparisons, for example 20-29 year-olds, 30-39 year-olds, and so on.
