Your investment options

Diversified options

Diversification helps offset market fluctuations by spreading your money across different assets.

Equip offers six diversified investment options ranging from Conservative to Growth Plus. You can choose the option that best meets your financial goals and risk tolerance. If you do not choose a preference your money will be invested in Equip’s default MySuper option.

Equip's asset management company ensures that the allocation to each class in the option you are invested in remains within the permitted range.

In other words, you can choose the option that best meets your personal financial goals and risk tolerance, then leave it up to Equip’s asset management company to oversee your investments.

Sector specific options

Sector specific options are useful for members who want greater control over their asset allocations.

They allow you to invest in particular asset classes, or can be used in conjunction with a diversified option to provide greater specific market exposure.

Sector specific options should be assessed regularly, to ensure they still align with your intended risk and returns preferences. We generally recommend seeking professional financial advice about sector specific investments.

  • Australian Shares

Members who wish to invest in the Australian share market's leading stocks can invest in this option. As it is invested in shares, it has the potential of providing higher long-term returns, but also increases the risk of a negative return from time to time.

  • SRI

Sustainable Responsible Investments suit members who wish to consider their investment’s impact on society and the environment, but are still looking for a growth orientated option. As this is invested in Australian shares, there is potential for occasional investment losses.

    More
  • Overseas Shares

Members who wish to invest in the international share markets' leading stocks can invest in this option. As it is invested in shares, it has the potential of providing higher long-term returns, but also increases the risk of a negative return from time to time.

  • Property

The Property option is invested in a number of different property sectors, such as office buildings, shopping centres and warehouses which may suit members who wish to select a moderately aggressive asset allocation with some risk of negative returns.

    More
  • Fixed Interest

Bonds and fixed interest investments are considered more stable and historically less volatile than share investments, but long-term returns are usually lower.

    More
  • Cash

The Cash option is invested in term deposits and bank bills, which means you sacrifice growth for increased stability and security.

It is a special type of plan where the employer promises a benefit on retirement that is predetermined by a formula.
