What is total and permanent disablement (TPD) cover?

TPD cover provides you with a lump sum benefit to help you cover your financial commitments if you’re unable to work due to becoming totally and permanently disabled.

In most cases, TPD cover is provided automatically to members of Equip Super.* But if you don’t receive TPD cover automatically, you can still apply for cover. You can also change or cancel your existing cover at any time.

* If you’ve joined us through your employer, and your employer has nominated Equip Super as their default super fund.

Transferring your existing TPD cover into Equip Super

You may be able to transfer the TPD cover you have with another super fund or life insurer into an Equip MyFuture account.

Log in to Member Online to apply to transfer your cover or complete the Transfer your insurance cover to Equip form.

There are some important considerations to be aware of when transferring cover from another insurer. We recommend finding out a little more before you make the change.
