How’s your super looking?

If you’re like most Australians, you probably don’t think about it a whole lot.

But a few small tweaks to your super can make a real difference to your future balance. Which means a more comfortable retirement.

Get started today with the three steps below, and look forward with confidence.

1. Consolidate your super

We can help you track down any lost super you may have and consolidate it into your account. Having all your super in one account means you save money, since you're not doubling up on fees. It also allows you to manage your super from one account, so you've got complete control. Find out more.

Getting started: Log into your Equip account and select ‘Find my Super’ from the drop-down menu. You’ll be given a list of all your super accounts and can combine them with the click of a button.

2. Check your investment options

Personalising your investment options and choosing a strategy that best meets your financial goals and risk tolerance can make a big difference to your future balance.

For example, our default MySuper option has delivered a very healthy 16.80% over the previous 12 months (to 30 June 2021). For those that are willing to take on more risk, our Growth option has delivered 20.99% over that same timeframe. Meanwhile, our Conservative option delivered 7.51%. Just remember, past performance is not a reliable indicator of future performance.

Getting started: Log into your Equip account and select investments from the drop-down menu. You can then update your investment mix to suit your life stage and risk tolerance.

3. Salary sacrifice

Salary sacrifice means you pay some of your pre-tax salary into your super account. As well as boosting your super balance, salary sacrificing can potentially reduce the amount of tax you pay.

Small additions to your super can add up, and even $20 a week is enough to set yourself up for a better retirement if you start early. Learn more by clicking here.

Getting started: Simply contact the payroll office at your work and let them know you would like to start salary sacrificing. We’ve even prepared a form that you can provide to make life easier. Download it now.
