Independent research into member perspectives on financial planning have revealed that Equip financial planners are outperforming other planners on the things that matter most for members.
Most notably, the report from Paragon Research* said that 93% of members who had received advice from an Equip planner said the advice focused on their needs and goals, a significantly higher number than the 72% for members who had seen other planners.
Although a substantial proportion of members said they were unsure whether there was such a thing as an ‘independent’ planner, there was a massive difference in how members who had received financial planning advice felt that the planners was ‘pushing their organisation’s products too much’.
Only 3% felt that Equip planners pushed Equip products, while 36% reported their external planner had pushed their organisation’s products too strongly. 63% of Equip planning clients thought there were enough alternative products and solutions to meet their needs, compared to 42% who received advice from elsewhere.
* Equip commissioned Paragon Research to conduct the survey in July 2017. There were 672 responses from members aged over 40 located throughout Australia.
