How can I tell if my super is on track?

Superannuation  |  21/07/2016  |   2 min read

Your super should be something that grows and changes with you throughout your life. So it’s important to check in from time-to-time and ensure it’s still on track to meet your long term goals.

Equip’s new website offers a range of enhanced tools and features that can help you understand your super and grow your balance.

One of the best ways to get started is to have a look at our new MyFuture Calculator. Simply input your income, age, and super balance and you’ll be able to see your projected retirement income.  You can also experiment with additional contributions, investment options, and retirement ages to see how they might impact your future balance.

If you’d like to see how you’re super compares to other Australians your age the Move the Dial pages is a great resource. Just enter your age and balance for instant feedback on your savings. Created to help showcase the gender savings gap, it offers plenty of tips on boosting your balance.

Keeping up with investment returns is another way to track your super’s growth. Visit our new investments page and you’ll see a snapshot of how different investment options have performed over both the long and short term. If you don’t choose an option when you join Equip you’re placed in our default MySuper option, but depending on your life stage, financial goals, and risk tolerance, you may want to look at either more conservative or more growth driven investment options.

Keeping an eye on your super and making small adjustments might not be a priority, but a few minutes now could make a real difference to your long term super balance.
